Visibility Score

The Visibility Score is Rankry’s headline metric: a single 0 to 100 number that captures how often and how prominently AI engines recommend your brand across your tracked prompts. It is position-aware, so being named first counts for more than being buried at the end of a list.

What Rankry measures

Rankry runs your buyer-intent prompts through each AI engine on a schedule, parses every answer for whether your brand appears and where it lands, and weights the result by position. Those per-prompt results roll up into an overall score and a per-model score, so a strong ChatGPT number never hides a weak Claude one.

Fields & metrics

FieldWhat it holds
Overall scorePosition-weighted visibility from 0 to 100 across all tracked prompts and models.
Per-model scoreThe same score computed separately for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Grok.
Mention rateShare of prompts where your brand appears at all.
Average positionWhere your brand lands in the answer when present.
TrendWeek-over-week change in the score.

Example use case

A marketing lead checks the Visibility Score weekly. It rose from 48 to 61 after publishing three comparison pages, but the per-model view shows Claude still lagging at 38. That single drill-down tells them exactly where to focus next, instead of celebrating an average that hides the gap.

FAQ

Visibility Score questions

Is the Visibility Score the same across all models?
No. Rankry computes an overall score and a separate score per model, because the engines disagree. The per-model breakdown is where most of the actionable insight lives.
Why is the score position-aware?
Because being named first in an AI answer carries far more weight than being mentioned last. A simple mention count would treat those as equal; the Visibility Score does not.
How often does the score update?
On your scan cadence, typically weekly, with daily available for priority prompts. Each update is trended so you can tie movement to the changes you shipped.
