Sample data

In short

Rankry brings three ways to find your next win into one page: opportunities in the prompts you already track, additional questions about your brand and competitors, and Search Console queries you are not tracking yet. Choose a question to write for or add a new prompt to measure.

In the app

What is on the Opportunities page?

Three widgets help you decide what to write, what to track next, and where your existing search demand points.

In your prompts

“No brand owns these answers yet.” Tracked prompts labelled “Open field” or “Low competition”, each with a strength bar (“Some”, “Good” or “Strong”) and a “Write” button that opens Content Studio. Five show at once, with “View all” for the rest.

What people ask AI

Find more questions to track about your brand and competitors. See where rivals appear without you, compare estimated AI Volume, and add the questions worth watching.

Search Console

“Google searches you show up for, not tracked yet.” Queries from your connected Search Console property with their impressions over the last 28 days, minus the ones you already track as prompts.

The same openings elsewhere

Open questions also show as “Open field” and “Low comp.” pills on the Prompts page, behind an “Opportunities” filter, and as step 2 of the Action plan, “Win open questions”.

Method

How do I find GEO opportunities?

GEO opportunities start with three questions: where could you win an answer, which useful prompts are missing from your tracking, and what does your existing search demand tell you? Rankry brings those signals together on the Opportunities page.

Rankry finds the first kind by checking every tracked prompt in your latest report. A prompt qualifies when you are named in at most 40% of its answers, when AI researches it heavily by citing many sources, and when no tracked competitor holds the answer. As the tooltip in the app puts it, one good article can make you the source.

“What people ask AI” finds additional questions about your brand and tracked competitors. Look at the questions where rivals appear without you, compare estimated AI Volume, and add the ones you want to monitor.

Search Console adds the searches that brought you impressions in the last 28 days and that you don’t track yet. Connect your property, choose the searches that matter, and turn them into prompts.

Manual research still helps. Sales calls, support tickets, Reddit threads and review sites are full of questions. Add the ones that matter as prompts and Rankry answers them right away, so you see who AI names for them on each engine.

Find, write, track

How do I act on an opportunity?

The page is built as a loop: find the opening, write for it, and keep measuring.

  1. 01

    Pick an open question

Start with the “Strong” openings in “In your prompts”. Open the prompt to see every brand named, the sources cited, and the full answer from each engine for new runs.

  2. 02

    Press “Write”

Rankry creates a “Write article” task for that question and opens Content Studio with the brief pre-filled.

  3. 03

    Shape the draft

Review the article’s voice, audience and length, answer any needed clarifying questions, and approve the outline before generating an article you can edit.

  4. 04

    Publish it yourself

Export the draft as Markdown, CSV or Word (DOCX) and publish it on your site or the channel it was written for.

  5. 05

    Add more questions to tracking

Use Add to prompts next to a suggested question or Search Console query. Choose the engines and confirm to start tracking it.

  6. 06

    Watch the next reports

The prompt stays tracked. When answers start naming you or citing your page, you see it in the prompt’s run history and on the Sources page.

Priorities

How do I prioritise AI search opportunities?

Not every opening deserves a page this week. Weigh these signals together.

Strength

The strength bar ranks how good each opening is. Start with “Strong”, then “Good”.

Business fit

A strong opening for a question you can’t answer credibly is a trap. Pick questions where your product is a real answer.

Demand

Use AI Volume to prioritise questions by estimated demand. On the Prompts page, Volume also shows Google Ads search volume.

Kind of opening

“Open field” means no tracked competitor is named. “Low competition” means rivals appear but none holds the answer. Open fields are often the faster win.

Impressions

For Search Console rows, impressions show how often Google showed you for that search in the last 28 days. High impressions and no tracked prompt is a clear gap in your tracking.

Effort

A missing FAQ section takes an hour; a full comparison page takes longer. Mix quick wins with bigger pages.

Two kinds of gaps

What is the difference between a content gap and a competitor gap?

A content gap is a question nobody answers well. AI cites many sources, none of them settles it, and no brand is clearly named. Rankry’s “Open field” prompts are content gaps, and the best move is to publish the clearest answer on the web.

A competitor gap is a question a rival already wins. AI names them, cites their pages and leaves you out. Those show up on the Compete page and in step 3 of the Action plan, “Beat your competitors”, where the moves are about the pages and sources that favour them.

“Low competition” prompts sit between the two. Rivals appear, but none holds the answer, so a strong page can still take it.

Limits

What the Opportunities page doesn’t do

Knowing the edges saves you a support ticket.

  • It doesn’t add questions to tracking automatically. You choose the engines and confirm Add to prompts.
  • It shows Search Console impressions only. Clicks, CTR and position are in the integration’s Search Performance tab.
  • It doesn’t publish content. Content Studio drafts export as Markdown, CSV or Word (DOCX).
  • It doesn’t re-run AI engines. “In your prompts” is calculated from your latest report.
  • The Search Console block needs the integration on your plan and a connected property.

Questions

AI search opportunity questions

What counts as an AI search opportunity in Rankry?

Three kinds of opening: a tracked question where competitors have not established a clear lead, an additional question about your brand or rivals worth tracking, and a Search Console query you already appear for but have not added as a prompt. Use the first to find content to write and the others to expand what you measure.

Are the opportunities picked by AI?

“In your prompts” uses fixed rules applied to your report: how often you are named, how many sources AI cites, demand and how often tracked competitors are named. “What people ask AI” finds questions in AI answer data about your brand and competitors. Search Console lists searches from your connected property.

Does “Open field” mean no competitors at all?

It means no tracked competitor is named. Other brands may still appear. Open the prompt and check “Who wins this prompt”. If a brand there matters to you, add it with “Add to competitors”, and the prompt is judged against it from then on.

How do I start tracking a search from the Search Console block?

Click Add to prompts, choose the engines and confirm. Rankry saves the question as a tracked prompt. It then runs with your reports like any other prompt.

Where do the suggested questions come from?

The suggested questions come from AI answers about your brand and tracked competitors. Coverage depends on your project’s country and language. If no matching questions are found, the table stays empty.

Do I need Search Console to use Opportunities?

No. “In your prompts” works from your reports, and “What people ask AI” discovers questions about your brand and competitors independently of Search Console. Connect a Search Console property to use the third widget.

How often do opportunities update?

“In your prompts” follows your reports, which refresh daily by default, with 3-day and 7-day options. New prompts can qualify after their first answers. Question suggestions use saved results and can refresh once a day. Search Console covers the last 28 days of your data.

What happens when I press “Write”?

Rankry creates a “Write article” task for that prompt and opens Content Studio with the brief pre-filled. Review the article settings, answer any needed clarifying questions, and approve the outline before generating. Then edit, check and export the article.

How do I know if an opportunity worked?

Keep the prompt tracked. In the following reports, check whether answers name you, at what position, and whether your page appears among the sources. If the prompt stops qualifying because you are now named often, that is the win.

How is this different from keyword research?

Keyword research finds searches with volume. Opportunities connects questions you can win, additional prompts about your brand and competitors, and searches your site already appears for. Use demand to prioritise them, then track the question or write the article that answers it.
