Content Studio

Content Studio writes articles for the questions you want AI engines to cite you on. You set the brief, answer a few questions, approve an outline, and Rankry writes a draft for you to edit and export.

The library has three tabs, a search box and New article:

  • Draft: articles with text that you haven’t marked completed.
  • To write: writing tasks with no text yet, such as the ones you create with Write on Opportunities or the Action plan.
  • Completed: finished articles.

Each row shows where the article came from (“Your idea”, or the report it came from) and its state: Not started, Brief in progress, Outline ready, Draft or Completed. Articles are writing tasks, so they also appear in Tasks.

The header shows Articles used out of your allowance and how many are Available. Hover it to see that the allowance is shared across your projects and how many days remain until it resets.

New article opens the brief:

  • Topic or question (required): what the article should help the reader understand or do.
  • Notes for the writer: experience, facts, points to cover, or things to avoid.
  • Article details:
    • Length: Short (500–700 words), Standard (900–1,200 words, the default) or In depth (1,500–1,800 words).
    • Primary keyword (optional).
    • Include a short FAQ, on by default.
  • Article settings, filled from your project. Changes apply to this article only.
    • Tone of voice: Rankry reads your website and suggests a starting style, marked Recommended. You can pick Practical and direct, Conversational and warm, Educational and clear, Expert and analytical, or describe a custom style.
    • Audience and Language (both required).
    • Writing guidelines: words to use or avoid, point of view, examples of your voice.
  1. Click Continue. Rankry prepares a few clarifying questions that shape the angle. If you don’t have a number or an example, say so: Rankry won’t make one up. When your brief already has enough detail, you see Your brief is ready instead.

  2. Click Build outline. Rankry reads source pages on the topic and drafts an outline: Article title, The angle, and sections with a heading and a purpose each. Edit any of it, add or remove sections, and see how many source pages were read.

  3. Tick “I’ve reviewed this outline. Write the article.” and click Generate article. This is the only step that uses an article from your allowance, and the button says so.

  4. Edit the draft in the editor. Changes save as you go, and unsaved edits are backed up on your device. Check writing suggests edits you can accept or dismiss one by one.

  5. Click Mark completed when it’s done. The article moves to Completed and its writing task is completed too. Move to draft reverses it.

From the editor you can also change the article’s settings, or Plan a new draft: change the brief and approve a new outline. Your saved draft stays available until you generate its replacement.

  • Copy copies the article text.
  • Export downloads it as Markdown, CSV or DOCX.

Each Generate article uses one article. The allowance is shared across all your projects and resets every 30 days. Your plan sets the number: see Plans and billing.

Clarifying questions, outlines, editing, Check writing and exports don’t use the allowance. If writing the draft fails, the article is given back.

Start from To write: many of those tasks come from questions where AI cites many sources and no brand owns the answer yet. Answer the clarifying questions with real numbers and examples, check the outline’s angle before you approve it, then publish the article on your site and watch the prompt on the Prompts page after your next scans.
