Competitors

Competitors are the brands Rankry measures you against on Compete, in Share of voice and in the Competitors column on Prompts.

You don’t choose competitors during setup. When your first report comes in, Rankry looks at the brands the AI answers actually name for your prompts and tracks the ones named most, up to your plan’s limit.

This means your competitor list reflects who AI recommends in your category, which is not always who you’d name yourself. A marketplace, a review site’s favorite or a brand from a nearby category can show up. That’s useful to know, and you can swap them out.

You can change competitors in several places:

  • Project settings → Competitors. Add a brand by name and website, or remove one.
  • Compete → Competitors panel. The same list, next to the charts.
  • Share of voice card on the Dashboard. Empty rows show a + to add a competitor.
  • A prompt’s detail panel. Under “Who wins this prompt”, add a brand the answers keep naming.

Your plan sets how many competitors each project can track. The Share of voice card shows how many you’re using.

Rankry recalculates every competitor figure from the answers it already has. It doesn’t ask the engines again, so changes take effect shortly and use no report requests. Compete shows “Analyzing competitors” while it works.
