Scans and report requests
A scan sends every tracked prompt to every engine selected for it, and reads the answers. Your report is built from scans.
- The first scan starts when you finish setting up a project.
- After that, scans run on a schedule. Your plan sets the interval. The project header shows it in the business profile (“Scans: Every N days”) and shows when the next scan is due.
- New prompts are answered right away. You don’t wait for the next scheduled scan to see them.
There’s no button to start a scan by hand. A steady schedule keeps every point in your history comparable: same prompts, same spacing.
While a scan runs, answers land one at a time and the tables fill in as they do. The header shows a Calculating ring until the scan finishes, then the time it was last updated. When the scan is done, Rankry emails you that the report is ready.
Report requests
Section titled “Report requests”Report requests are your plan’s monthly allowance of answers.
- One answer is one request. One prompt on one engine in one scan.
- A request is used only when an answer arrives. If an engine fails to answer, nothing is charged, and you can retry the prompt from its row in the Prompts table.
- The allowance is shared across all projects on your account and counted over a 30-day window.
- Recalculations are free. Changing competitors recalculates every figure from stored answers and uses no requests.
The Report requests meter at the bottom of the sidebar shows what you’ve used and how much is set aside for the scans already scheduled, so you can see what’s left for new prompts.
How many requests a scan uses
Section titled “How many requests a scan uses”Prompts × engines. For example:
| Prompts | Engines | Answers per scan |
|---|---|---|
| 25 | 3 | 75 |
| 25 | 5 | 125 |
| 50 | 5 | 250 |
Add prompts shows the cost before you confirm, and warns you (“Not enough requests for this”) if your allowance won’t cover it.
History
Section titled “History”Rankry keeps every scan, and the period picker lets you look back as far as your plan allows. Periods are clipped to that window; AI Traffic says so when it happens (“Your plan keeps AI traffic from…”).
