AI Volume and Volume
Two columns in Prompts estimate demand for each question, so you can tell a prompt worth fighting for from one nobody asks.
- AI Volume: how often people ask AI assistants about this, per month.
- Volume: how often people search Google for it, per month.
Both are measured for your project’s market: its country and language.
Why prompts need translating
Section titled “Why prompts need translating”Nobody publishes how many people type a given sentence into ChatGPT, and a full question like “which CRM is best for a small marketing agency?” has almost no exact searches. So Rankry measures the thing the question is about.
- Find the search concept. Rankry reduces the prompt to its few defining words, for example crm + marketing agency.
- Measure searches that keep all of them. Only searches with every defining word, in any grammatical form (“agency” or “agencies”), count. “crm software” doesn’t count for that prompt, however big its number, because it drops the audience.
- Take the largest figure, not a sum. Google already folds close variants into one number.
A prompt that names your brand is measured on your brand name.
Where the numbers come from
Section titled “Where the numbers come from”- Volume is Google’s monthly search volume for those searches.
- AI Volume estimates monthly questions to AI assistants on the same topic. It’s built from the questions people ask Google and AI tools that contain every defining word.
Both refresh every 30 days.
N/A means no search keeps every defining word, or there’s no data for your market. That’s an honest answer: the question is too specific, too new, or too local to show up in search data. It doesn’t mean nobody asks it.
AI Volume isn’t available for every market. A project set to Global, for example, shows N/A for AI Volume.
