AI engines

An engine is one place people get AI answers. Rankry sends your prompts to each engine on your plan and reads what comes back.

EngineWhat Rankry reads
ChatGPTChatGPT’s answer, with web search on.
GeminiGemini’s answer, grounded in Google Search.
PerplexityPerplexity’s answer, from its own web search.
ClaudeClaude’s answer, with web search on.
GrokGrok’s answer, with web search on.
Google AI OverviewsThe AI Overview at the top of Google’s results for the prompt.
Google AI ModeThe answer in Google’s AI Mode.
Meta MuseMuse’s answer through Meta’s official API, with web search on.
CopilotAzure GPT with Bing web search, through Microsoft’s official API. In the app it’s Copilot · Azure + Bing.

The chatbots are asked the prompt word for word, the way a person types it, with no hidden instructions about your brand. Google’s two surfaces are read from Google’s live results.

For local businesses, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode often show a map and a list of businesses. Rankry keeps them and shows the answer the way Google laid it out. See Prompt history and answers.

An add-on answers every prompt you track.

Each engine you add multiplies the answers per scan: 25 prompts on 3 engines is 75 answers, on 5 engines it’s 125. Every answer uses one report request. See Scans and report requests.

When you add prompts, you can pick which of your engines answer them. You can change it later from the prompt’s row menu (Edit…); the change applies from the next scan. Engines that aren’t on your plan show “Not on your plan”.

Each engine searches the web its own way, reads different sources and has its own habits in how it writes lists. It’s normal for one engine to rank you first and another to leave you out. That’s what Diversity and the Model preferences chart show.

When an engine moves to a newer model, your history stays as it was.
